Hi, Was working on my Husband's tree and came across your entry on Ancestry. com It is possible he is descended from Nathan and Julia through a daughter, Adeline, b. abt. 1863 in Illinois, USA, m. before 1880 in Kansas, USA. Her death certificate shows her Father as Nathan Lake, b. Can. and her mother as unknown Van Volkenfing, b. Can., much too close to your info to ignore. However, I could not find Nathan on your WebSite. If you can shed more light on this family it would be appreciated. My Father-in-law went to his grave wanting to know more of his mother's (Adeline) family. I could not find her for him, but maybe can for his children and grandchildren. Any help appreciated. Rita Nies
Nathan was a Farmer near the Village of Battersea. His Farm was still known in 1952 as the Nathan place. After his marriage, he lived in Storrington Township and had a family. He left Ontario and probably emigrated to the U. S. No pension claim based on the Civil War service was found in U. S. Veteran's Administration, no record of immigration to Illinois, USA, Kansas, USA, Minnesota, USA in the 1952 search of census information available. Still searching. It is believed he married Julia VanValkenverg, but some say it was Julia Keeler.
Is this him?
