Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal two times, Army Commendation Medal three times, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, National Defense Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon.
James E. Misialek, age 69 formerly of Grafton, ND passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospital of Iowa City, IA.
James E. Misialek was born December 24, 1942 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Edward and Genieve (O'Sullivan) Misialek. He graduated from Dilworth High school. Following his education he served in the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He retired in 1980 and then worked for the Social Security Administration.
James is survived by his sons: Scott of Tacoma, WA and Stephen of Maui, Hawaii; sisters: Pat Switzer, White Bear Lake, MN; Kay Severtson, Fargo, ND and Margaret Langowski, Hoyt Lakes, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Ellen
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home , 154 W. 12th ST., Grafton, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the Vietnam Veterans Association Chapter 941 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
