Hi Sandy Sullivan. I just ran across your information tonight and just wanted to connect with you. The Thomson family connects with my mom's a few generations back where Margaret Dunn, daughter of Thomas Dunn and Margaret Jamieson (my great-great-great-aunt) marries James Thomson, son of David Thomson and Jane Edgar. I do have a Thomson family connection and a Lot of other information, but you also have some that I don't have. I have included a little here about Archibald, and I didn't have his marriage information. I would love to hear from you. Dottie.
ARCHIBALD THOMSON, b. 1749; Christening: May 7, 1749 (WT dap)
Archibald was the first to come to North America in 1773, first to New York, USA, then to Kingston, then Newark (Niagara), then to York. His brothers Andrew and David came in 1796. The original Thomson to come to North America, Archibald, was the great Grandfather of Roy Herbert Thomson, Lord Thomson of Fleet the newspaper empire. Lord Thomson paid a researcher to dig into the Thomson family and privately published a book in 1976, "A Backward Look At The Forefolk Of Lord Thomson Of Fleet And North Bridge". (WT dap)
