- ADELINE (INA) GOLDRING (NEE ALEXANDER)
Peacefully at age 97 on Monday, January 17, 2011.
Ina was predeceased by her husband Ed (1970), her beloved sister Nita Mancer (1999) and brother- in-law Alf Mancer (2001), brother-in-law Jack Trower in Ottawa (1989), sister-in-law Muriel Brokke (2008), husband Joe, sister-in-law Marion Pratt (1998) and husband Murray.
She will be forever missed by daughter Lynne, son Bruce (Lorraine), grandson Neil, sister Ruth Trower of Ottawa, and many nieces and nephews.
Ina grew up in Emesville (West St. Paul) where she met and married Ed Goldring Christmas Eve 1934. The two then spent five adventuresome years in York Factory and Gillam during Ed's first teaching post, which provided Ina with many fond memories.
Upon return to Winnipeg family and friends were her focus. They hosted many lively parties often with Ed playing the organ with friends on violin and sax. Christmas Eve became their annual open house.
After Ed's death in 1970 Ina remained active in her bridge clubs. She enjoyed some memorable trips with Ed's sister, Muriel especially their cruise to Alaska and tour of the Hawaiian Islands to which she would love to have returned some day. On a trip with friends to Ireland she climbed all 180 steps to kiss the Blarney Stone. She cherished her friends and family, especially grandson Neil and all the time she spent with the Mancers. She lived life to the fullest and her spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Thanks to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their compassion.
As per Ina's request cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held
