George H. Purchase came to Dakota Territory fifty years ago, and for forty years has been a member of the bar of North Dakota, USA. His name is well known in several localities and he has given Sioux two terms of capable service in the office of stat's attorney.

On May 8, 1879, he took up a homestead of 160 Acres, four miles northeast of Jamestown, North Dakota, USA. He was on the homestead Farm until 1904, in which year he retired from business and removed to Cusick, Washington, USA. He was a Republican, a member of the Episcopal Church, the Masonic fraternity and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. John R.
